| Dynasty Warrior 5
 The fifth installment in Koei’s DYNASTY WARRIORS series for the Xbox returns players to ancient China during a time of turmoil and war. Based on the Chinese story ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS, players take control of one of 48 legendary Chinese warriors to battle their way through thousands of enemies for king and country. DYNASTY WARRIORS 5 has a simple goal: select a character and start hacking away at everything that moves. Each character has an unique story in story mode and their own upgradeable weapons and special combo attacks. The bodyguard system is back, although instead of two weaker assistants, you get one stronger guard and the ability of combining attacks to decimate enemies. Debuting in DYNASTY WARRIORS 4, the stronghold system makes a return, letting you take over certain locations on the map to boast army morale. Challenge mode is back also, this time containing a time attack mode, a rampage mode, and a new mini-game called bridge melee, were the purpose is to knock as many enemies off a bridge as possible in the given time. An encyclopedia detailing the characters and battles’ histories is also available. Fans of the series will enjoy the new additions to the familiar formula, including six new characters. Newcomers can jump right in it’s not necessary to have any knowledge of the previous games or the story. For both, DYNASTY WARRIORS 5 offers the excitement of an action/adventure game with the added bonus of a built-in history lesson.
